NYC Therapist Terri Bacow PhD

Dr. Terri Bacow
Helping New York  &  Florida

I work with adults and young adult clients (including college students) specializing in treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and ADHD using evidence-based treatments.

In my therapy sessions, I provide clients with a mix of coping strategies derived from CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy). These strategies are supported by research as being effective in managing symptoms by reducing distress and providing a sense of calm and empowerment.

Life can get difficult, and sometimes a little help from a therapist can make things better. I am an expert at helping clients with challenges including managing anxiety, being a mom, experiencing life transitions typical of being in college, navigating parenthood, and adult ADHD. I care about your well-being and provide you with empirically supported tools that can help you learn how to tackle even the most difficult circumstances.

My practice is the ideal place to find specialized therapy in NYC, and I always take a personalized and tailored approach to help the clients I work with. I am also licensed to practice telehealth in Florida.

Life can be overwhelming and even exhausting, but I’m here to guide you through any obstacles you may face. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, better cope with change, and lead a fulfilling, vibrant life.

Goodbye, Anxiety: A Guided Journal for Overcoming Worry

After working with so many clients on their anxiety, I began to see ongoing patterns and wanted to help a wider audience than I can reach as just one therapist in New York City. So I’ve written Goodbye, Anxiety to help!
Goodbye, Anxiety: A Guided Journal for Overcoming Worry  is a top-rated book on Amazon with an average of 4.8 stars, and can also be found at Barnes and Noble, Urban Outfitters, and independent booksellers.
Published by Spruce Books, an imprint of Sasquatch/A Penguin Random House Company - it's available in-store or online!
This book is ideal for tweens, teens and young adults, but even their parents and my adult clients have all found it to be a remarkably helpful resource.
